Founder & Pastor Emeritus – Reverend Keon Gerow

“Builder, thinker, and cutting edge” are all words used to describe the founder and Senior Pastor of Catalyst Church, Pastor Keon A. Gerow. His 21st Century progressive vision has featured him in several media outlets including various local news channels, TBN, the Word Network, the Philadelphia Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, Divine Inspirations Magazine, the Baltimore Sun, and Never Let You Down Magazine.

Pastor Gerow currently sits on the board of Lutheran Theological Seminary’s Urban Theological Institute and Graduate Philadelphia. He is a former board member of several organizations including: The Leadership Center at Morehouse College; The Middle House; The Brisbane Institute; We Are SEEDS, Inc., The Education Center for Applied Maintenance (a nonprofit organization that awakens the genius of recovering addicts by assisting them with cultivating job skills) and former board chair for Mothers In Charge, Inc., the foremost nonprofit organization committed to healing mothers of slain children due to gun violence in Philadelphia. He is also a contributing writer for Above Rubies Magazine, serves as an Ambassador for the Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, member of the Pyramid Club, the Philadelphia Black Clergy and Vicinity, the Philadelphia Eastern Keystone Baptist Association and the International Leadership Association. In addition, Pastor Gerow has been inducted into the prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College as a “Distinguished Preacher.”

God’s ministry through Pastor Gerow has placed him before international audiences in Egypt, Jamaica, South Africa, Korea, Turkey, college campuses, the Maryland National Baptist Convention, the Pennsylvania Eastern Keystone Baptist Association, Progressive National Baptist Convention-Eastern Region, the nationally acclaimed Martin Luther King, Jr. March in Atlanta, GA, and speaking at the National Mall in Washington, DC demanding an end to senseless gun violence in urban communities. Moreover, he received the Dale Carnegie Leadership Institute Award, the Morehouse College Distinguished Leader of the Year Award, the Dr. John Chissell Optimal Achiever Award and the Ambassador of Caring Community Service Award from the Fullwood Foundation. As well, he has received numerous honors from several civic and governmental officials alike.

Pastor Gerow earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Morehouse College, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from the Howard University School of Business. He is the proud father of Kennedy Noelle and Keon Nicholas Xavier.
He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
